Traveling Through Senegal

Below are the highlights of each day that I spent in Senegal, West Africa.

  • Day 1 – Experiencing my first full day in Dakar, Senegal
  • Day 2 – Visiting Vocational and Span Schools in Dakar
  • Day 3 – Visiting the West African Research Center (WARC) and École Les Hirondelles Elementary School
  • Day 4 – Visiting the US Embassy, Dakar, Senegal
  • Day 5 – Arriving in Thiés, Senegal
  • Day 6 – Experiencing Resurrection Sunday (Easter) in Diass
  • Day 7 – Visiting Bandia Nature Reserve, Jaol-Faitouth, and Mbour
  • Day 8 – Observing Lycée Sanghe
  • Day 9 – Cours Privés Excellence (CPEX), Institutionalization National d’Education et de Formation des Jeunes Aveugles (INEGJA), and Manufacture des Arts
  • Day 10 – Teaching at Cours Privés Excellence (CPEX) and a cultural program at Lycée Sanghe
  • Day 11 – Teaching at Lycée Sanghe
  • Day 12 – Leaving Thiés
  • Day 13 – Meeting with Senegalese alumni of the Fulbright Exchange program back in Dakar
  • Day 14 – Debriefing the Field Experience and Visiting Gorée Island
  • Day 15 – Visiting the Museum of African Civilization and Leaving Dakar
